Peppermint oil is used to relieve IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) symptoms, such as trapped wind, bloating, cramping and pain. The active ingredient in this medicine is a natural oil extracted from the peppermint plant. Peppermint works by relaxing the smooth muscle of your intestine, reducing spasms and cramping. The capsules are enteric-coated to help the oil reach the part of your bowel where it will be most effective. Each capsule contains 0.2ml of peppermint oil. Mintec capsules contain a naturally occurring oil extracted from the peppermint plant which is used to relieve the symptoms of IBS. They work by relaxing spasms in the muscle of the bowel wall and helping to restore normal bowel contractions, decreasing the trapping of air and other bowel contents and relieving abdominal bloating, wind, discomfort and pain. Unlike some antispasmodic medications, Mintec Capsules act only on the muscles of the bowel and do not affect the rest of the body. Symptomatic relief of irritable bowel or spastic colon syndrome. INGREDIENTS: |

DOSAGE: Adults: 1 capsule orally 3 times a day, preferably before meals with a small quantity of water, but not immediately after food. The capsules must not be broken or chewed. When symptoms are more severe, the dose may be increased to 2 capsules 3 times a day. The capsules should be taken until symptoms resolve, but may be continued for up to 2 to 3 months. Children: not recommended. |
