Silk Patchwork Kimono

Real silk saris have been redesigned into beautiful patchwork kimonos to wear as signature pieces (they are so gorgeous!) or luxury robes. Handmade in India. Each kimono is a one-of-a-kind patchwork design constructed from vintage sari squares. The kimonos are made by fabric tailors and crafters who work for an artist cooperative in a village outside of Rajasthan, India. The cooperative matches skill sets to jobs and is a jobs-creation program for women in this region of India. Studies show that increasing the standard of living for females in communities is an efficient strategy to lift entire regions out of poverty.
